Job summary

The Cordina Group in NSW is seeking a Safety Officer for a multi-site role based in Girraween with regular travel across NSW to support WHS operations and foster a proactive safety culture.

You will conduct site inspections and WHS audits, lead incident investigations and training, coordinate WHS meetings, monitor metrics, and support the WHS Management System while ensuring compliance and contractor onboarding.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' hands-on safety experience in manufacturing.
• Cert IV, Diploma or Degree in WHS.
• Knowledge of WHS legislation, standards and regs.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Full driving license for travel between sites.
• Australian permanent resident or citizen (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular site inspections and WHS audits, identifying hazards and implementing practical risk controls.
• Support and participate in incident investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Deliver WHS training, inductions, and toolbox talks across sites.
• Coordinate WHS Committee meetings, including agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
• Monitor and report on key WHS metrics (LTIFR, incident frequency, severity rates).
• Support implementation and maintenance of the WHS Management System.
• Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies, and safety standards.
• Assist in contractor management and onboarding processes.
• Provide hands‑on support and guidance to leaders and employees on WHS matters.
• Conduct risk assessments and assist in developing Safe Work Procedures (SWPs).
• Provide administrative support across WHS functions

About the Role:

We are currently seeking experienced and motivated Safety Officer to join our Safety team, supporting WHS operations across multiple sites throughout New South Wales. This is a hands‑on role ideal for individuals who are passionate about workplace safety, thrive in fast‑paced operational environments, and are committed to fostering a strong and proactive safety culture.

Reporting to the Group WHS Manager, you will provide practical, on-the-ground support to ensure the effective implementation and ongoing improvement of WHS systems, processes, and compliance across the group. This role will require regular travel between sites across NSW, based on a roster and operational requirements. Flexibility and a willingness to travel are essential.

• At least 3 years' experience in a hands‑on, safety role preferably within a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
• A Cert IV, Diploma or Degree in a relevant area such as Work Health and Safety
• Understanding of work health and safety Legislation, Standards and Regulations
• Strong communication and influencing skills
• Ability to promote and operate in a collaborative work environment
• A full car licence is required to support regular travel between sites across NSW.
• Preferred Australian permanent resident or citizen
