Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Queensland is seeking a Senior HSE Manager to develop and implement health, safety, and environmental initiatives. The successful candidate will have over 10 years of experience in HSE Management, particularly with Tier 1 Health, Commercial Tower, or Stadium projects. Responsibilities include leading safety initiatives, providing expert guidance, and conducting risk assessments. Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in a HSE Manager role with Tier 1 project experience.
  • Ability to interpret Safety and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience in conducting risk assessments and audits.
  • Bachelor degree in Safety, Environment, Project Management or related discipline.
  • TAE Training and Assessment qualification.
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development and implementation of health, safety and environmental initiatives
  • Provide expert guidance and advice to operational leaders and frontline staff on safety best practices
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and audits to ensure compliance with WHS legislation and internal standards
  • Analyse incident trends and safety data to drive proactive interventions and continuous improvement
  • Oversee the investigation of incidents and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed a strong safety culture and promote employee wellbeing
  • Stay up to date with regulatory changes and industry innovations to maintain best-in-class safety systems
What we are looking for
  • 10+ years' experience in a HSE Manager role with Tier 1 Health, Commercial Tower or Stadium project experience
  • Diploma of Safety in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent
  • Cert IV in Environmental Management
  • Bachelor degree in Safety, Environment, Project Management or other associated disciplines
  • Safety Lead Auditor Qualification, Internal Environmental Auditor Qualification
  • TAE Training and Assessment
  • Quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls and actions involved in delivery and implementation of projects
  • Knowledge of Safety legislation and statutes (especially those relating to Comcare), and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project
  • Knowledge of Environmental legislation and statutes, and ability to interpret any applicable statutes or legislation relevant to Project
