Job summary

Bulla Dairy Foods in Victoria is seeking a Full-Time Safety Lead to join our Operations Team. The role focuses on active safety leadership, risk-based advice, and practical improvements across site operations.

You will coach site leaders, identify and control safety risks, and drive safety conversations that are constructive and outcomes-focused while supporting contractor management and incident investigations.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a similar safety leadership role.
• FMCG/manufacturing safety experience.
• Diploma in OHS or a similar discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Victorian OHS requirements.
• Demonstrated leader coaching capability.
• Strong operational credibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical safety advice to site leaders and frontline teams.
• Coach leaders to fulfil their safety responsibilities.
• Identify, assess and control operational safety risks.
• Challenge unsafe practices or decisions.
• Develop and deliver site safety improvement plans.
• Facilitate effective consultation with employees and Health and Safety Representatives.
• Maintain visibility across operations and build trusted relationships.
• Support management of contractors on site.
• Facilitate investigations to identify root causes and systemic factors.
• Support implementation of company safety standards and minimum requirements.
• Monitor and review the effectiveness of safety processes and controls.
• Ensure incidents are investigated, documented and resolved timely.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Time Safety Lead to join our Operations Team.

At Bulla, we don't see safety as something owned by the Safety team. We believe the most effective safety outcomes are achieved when leaders and employees are actively engaged in identifying hazards, understanding risk and developing practical solutions together.

This role is much more than compliance, audits and systems. It is about building relationships, understanding work as it is performed and helping create an environment where safety conversations are open, constructive and solution focused.

What’s the Scoop?

• Provide practical, credible and risk-based safety advice to site leaders and frontline leadership.
• Coach leaders to understand and fulfil their safety responsibilities.
• Support the identification, assessment and effective control of operational safety risks.
• Challenge practices or decisions where safety risk is not being effectively managed.
• Support the development and delivery of site safety improvement priorities and plans.
• Facilitate effective consultation and engagement with employees and Health and Safety Representatives.
• Maintain visibility across operations and build trusted relationships with leaders and employees.
• Support effective management of contractors and other parties undertaking work at the site.
• Facilitate and ensure investigations move beyond immediate causes to identify underlying and systemic contributors.
• Support implementation of company safety standards and minimum requirements.
• Monitor the effectiveness of key safety processes and controls.
• Ensure incidents are investigated, documented and resolved in a timely manner.
  

What You’ll Bring:

We are looking for someone who has:

• 3+ years in a similar role
• Strong FMCG / manufacturing experience
• Diploma in OHS or a similar discipline
• Strong working knowledge of Victorian occupational health and safety requirements and contemporary risk management practices
• Demonstrated leader coaching capability
• Strong operational credibility
