Job summary

Blacktown City Council is seeking a Safety Lead to work with operational teams and leaders to strengthen work health and safety culture. You will monitor the WHS incident register, investigate incidents, participate in inspections and audits, and ensure corrective actions are completed.

You will support the implementation and continuous improvement of WHS policies and systems, collaborating with managers, employees, contractors and Health and Safety Representatives to address risks and training

Join Council's Safety team as a Safety Lead, where you work closely with operational teams and leaders, you help strengthen Council’s work health and safety culture by providing practical advice, supporting the resolution of WHS issues and identifying opportunities to improve how we work.

You work closely with employees across Council’s operations. You monitor and review the WHS incident register, investigate incidents, participate in workplace inspections and audits, and follow corrective actions through to completion. You review safety data, identify trends and help ensure WHS records, reports and documentation are accurate and up to date.

You support the implementation and continuous improvement of Council’s WHS policies, procedures and systems. You work with managers, employees, contractors and Health and Safety Representatives to address workplace changes, safety risks and training needs. You observe work practices, recommend practical ways to reduce risk and promote safe behaviours across the organisation.
