Job summary

The Sydney Opera House is seeking a Safety Consultant – Risk to strengthen our safety culture by developing and implementing risk management systems, processes and procedures across the organisation. You will work closely with teams and stakeholders, providing expert advice on WHS legislation, facilitating risk assessments, maintaining risk registers and driving continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS and significant experience in a Safety Advisor or Safety Consultant role.
• Experience developing and implementing safety risk management systems, procedures and controls.
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards, incident investigations and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead WHS projects, investigations and change initiatives, delivering practical outcomes.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, build relationships, deliver training and foster a positive safety culture across diverse teams.

Help create a safer future at the Sydney Opera House. As a Safety Consultant – Risk, you’ll play a key role in strengthening our safety culture by supporting the development and implementation of risk management systems, processes and procedures across the organisation. Working closely with teams and stakeholders, you'll provide expert advice on WHS legislation, facilitate risk assessments, maintain risk registers and contribute to initiatives that reduce risk and drive continuous improvement.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate;

• Tertiary qualifications in WHS and significant experience in a Safety Advisor or Safety Consultant role within complex, high-risk environments.
• Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and reviewing safety risk management systems, procedures and controls.
• Strong technical knowledge of WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, Australian Standards, incident investigations and risk management.
• Proven ability to lead WHS projects, investigations and change initiatives, delivering practical outcomes and continuous improvement.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence, build effective relationships, deliver training and foster a positive safety culture across diverse teams.
