Job summary

Sydney Opera House is seeking a Senior Events Leader to drive exceptional events aligned with artistic vision and strategic goals. You will lead a team of specialists, delivering seamless experiences and maintaining strong relationships with hirers and stakeholders.

The role emphasizes collaboration, inclusion and customer excellence, with responsibility for budgets, contracts and high-performing team leadership in a dynamic setting.

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership experience in building, mentoring and managing high-performing teams.
  • Extensive experience in theatre, production and event management across diverse events.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or significant event management experience with strong project management.
  • Ability to manage budgets, financial processes and contracts; knowledge of industry trends.

Lead exceptional events at one of the world's most iconic cultural institutions.

As a senior leader, you'll drive the delivery of outstanding events and event account management services, ensuring alignment with the Sydney Opera House's artistic vision and strategic goals. Leading a team of dedicated specialists, you'll foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion and customer excellence, building strong relationships with hirers and stakeholders to deliver seamless experiences.

ARE YOU THE ONE?

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate;

  • Proven leadership experience in building, mentoring and managing high-performing teams, with strong skills in communication, negotiation, conflict resolution and resource management.
  • Extensive experience in theatre, production and event management across a diverse range of events, including corporate, community, government, festival and performing arts programs.
  • Relevant qualifications and/or significant event management experience, with strong project management skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience managing budgets, financial processes and contracts, with the ability to interpret and implement contractual requirements. Advanced proficiency in event management systems and digital tools, with strong knowledge of the arts sector, industry trends and the broader operating environment.
