Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Security and Certification SME to support development of security, safety and certification frameworks for defence programs. You will collect requirements, develop SSPP/SSP/TCP and maintain certification artefacts in collaboration with Defence authorities and OEMs.

The role requires navigating complex regulatory environments, leading gap analyses, and providing expert guidance on compliance strategies to enable Combined Pass and capability introduction into service.

Qualifications

• Experience with security and certification processes for defence programs.
• Ability to develop and maintain SSP, SSPP and TCP.
• Minimum NV1 clearance, NV2 preferred.

The Security and Certification SME will assist development of the security, safety and certification framework, compliance strategy, technical assurance activities and engineering planning supporting Combined Pass approval activities. The SME will provide specialist advice across system security, system certification, platform certification, multi-domain regulatory compliance, explosive ordnance safety and certification, transport certification and Defence and government certification requirements.

Role:

• Identify security, safety and technical certification requirements applicable to the capability solution and supporting systems.
• Collect and analyse certification, regulatory, assurance and compliance requirements from Defence, Industry, OEM, FMS and regulatory stakeholders.
• Support security and certification activities with key Defence authorities, technical regulators, Army Headquarters, Industry and OEM stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain the Safety Program Plan (SSPP).
• Develop and maintain the System Security Plan (SSP).
• Develop and maintain the Technical Certification Plan (TCP).
• Develop and maintain relevant Certification Registers, Compliance Registers and certification evidence tracking mechanisms.
• Support development of FPS requirements for overall System Safety, Security and Certification for the capability.
• Develop certification pathways and approval strategies supporting Combined Pass, acquisition and capability introduction into service.
• Lead regulatory and certification gap analysis activities to identify compliance obligations and certification requirements.
• Conduct comparative assessments of alternative certification approaches considering compliance risk, technical maturity, schedule impacts, implementation complexity and sustainment implications.
• Conduct risk and opportunity analysis associated with certification, regulatory compliance, transport approvals, system safety, explosive ordnance safety, explosive ordnance certification and operational security requirements.
• Assess certification requirements associated with launchers, missiles, radars, command and control systems, communications systems, tactical data links and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain relevant system safety artefacts to support hazard identification, analysis and mitigation activities.
• Assess compliance against Defence policies, standards, regulations and certification requirements.
• Support development of certification evidence, assurance artefacts and approval documentation required to support capability approval activities.
• Identify certification, safety and compliance risks and recommend mitigation strategies to support capability effectiveness, acceptance and acquisition outcomes.
• Support development of technical evidence, certification recommendations and assurance products required for Combined Pass activities.

Mandatory requirements:

• Minimum NV1 clearance with ability to obtain NV2. (NV2 Clearance preferred).
• Must be able to work from Brindabella Business Park 5 days per week, CBR location preferred.
• Relevant experience undertaking role responsibilities.
• Minimum 6 years’ experience, preferably within Defence.
• Experience in complex acquisition projects.
