Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the LAND 6504 capability development. The role supports Early Access Funding and acquisition planning, providing senior engineering advice to project leadership and coordinating with engineering SMEs.

Responsibilities include leading an APS/contractor team, maintaining the requirements baseline, and guiding technical scope, interfaces, risks and trade studies to ensure robust project outcomes in a defence context.

Qualifications

• Minimum NV1 clearance with ability to obtain NV2; NV2 preferred.
• Experience in leading an integrated engineering team and complex defence projects.
• Experience in establishing and maintaining baselines and architecture.

Role Title: Senior Systems Engineer

Activity Description

• The LAND 6504 Level 4 Senior System Engineer will act as the engineering lead supporting development of the LAND 6504 capability and will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the project engineering baseline required to support Early Access Funding, acquisition planning and Combined Pass approval activities. The position provides senior engineering advice to the Project Director, Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager while coordinating engineering activities performed by other specialist engineering SMEs.

Primary Responsibilities

• Lead and manage up an integrated engineering team comprising APS and contractors.
• Establish and maintain the LAND 6504 requirements baseline.
• Define and maintain technical scope, system boundaries and architecture baselines.
• Identify and manage interfaces, dependencies, assumptions, constraints, risks and opportunities.
• Lead engineering input to acquisition strategy and implementation planning.
• Conduct and assure technical assessments, trade studies and engineering recommendations.
• Support engineering governance, reviews and decision making.
• Provide engineering reporting and advice to project leadership.

Mandatory requirements:

• Minimum NV1 clearance with ability to obtain NV2. (NV2 Clearance preferred)
• Must be able to work from Brindabella Business Park 5 days per week, CBR location preferred.
• Relevant experience undertaking role responsibilities
• Minimum 10 years experience, preferably within Defence.
• Experience in complex acquisition projects.
