Job summary

Northeast Health Wangaratta is seeking dynamic part-time nursing students in their second year to join the RUSON program. You will support experienced nurses by performing delegated aspects of care and expand your clinical skills while completing your studies.

Successful applicants will work under supervision, with the potential for extra shifts when available, and be part of a team delivering care across acute and sub-acute services in a regional health setting.

Northeast Health Wangaratta (NHW) is the major health provider in the Central Hume region with an extensive range of acute, sub-acute, aged care and community services.

The Registered Undergraduate Student of Nursing (RUSON) nursing framework allows Nursing Students to work one shift per week, as an assistant to Nurses, providing delegated aspects of client care in accordance with the professional judgement of the supervising Registered Nurse and in accordance with the level of achieved educational preparation and assessed competence of the individual RUSON.The employment is on a temporary basis while students are completing their studies.

We are seeking dynamic part time registered nursing students in their second year of study as part of our RUSON employment program. Successful applicants will be keen to expand their nursing skills and gain invaluable experience by assisting to provide care to patients in our acute care settings.

RUSONS will be able to work extra shifts if they are available.

• Wangaratta has a population of approximately 30,000 and our catchment serves a community of around 100 000 throughout the northeast.
