Job summary

St Vincent’s Private Hospital Toowoomba – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a Rural Patient Access Coordinator to coordinate travel and accommodation for rural cancer patients, support IPTAAS applications, and arrange complex appointments across haematology and transplant services. You will liaise with patients, referring hospitals, and care teams to streamline referrals and follow-up.

Qualifications

• Experience in health administration, care coordination or patient support.
• Experience arranging complex healthcare appointments, travel or accommodation.
• Understanding of rural, regional and remote patients’ barriers to specialist healthcare.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and independently resolve coordination issues.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, patient administration systems and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate travel and accommodation for rural, regional and remote cancer patients and carers.
• Assist with IPTAAS applications, supporting documentation and reimbursement processes.
• Organise complex appointments across haematology, transplant and cellular therapy services.
• Liaise with patients, referring hospitals, clinicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Help overcome access barriers and improve the patient journey from referral to follow-up.
