Job summary

Rugby World Cup Australia (RWCA) is seeking a proactive Match Operations Coordinator to support planning, coordination, and delivery of tournament matches for the Men's Rugby World Cup 2027 in Sydney. Based in Sydney CBD, you will work with World Rugby, Rugby Australia, and other partners to ensure match-day operations meet the highest standards and welfare requirements.

The role offers a fixed-term contract with hybrid working options (four days in office, then full-time in-office as delivery

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in event operations, match operations, sports administration, or a similar coordination role.
• Knowledge of the international rugby landscape and the Laws of the Game is advantageous.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to quality-check operational plans and documentation.
• Strong organisational and administrative capabilities with multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills across diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.
• Proactive, adaptable, and resilient with problem-solving skills under pressure.
• Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Support the development and execution of Match Operations plans, ensuring compliance with World Rugby regulations and player welfare requirements.
• Prepare, maintain, and quality check match documentation, run sheets, venue guides, and briefing materials.
• Assist in developing match operations policies, procedures, systems, and planning tools.
• Coordinate onboarding, training, deployment, and administration of Match Management staff across venues.
• Support venue operational planning, including space requirements and attendance at site visits.
• Collaborate with World Rugby, Rugby Australia, unions, suppliers, and contractors to ensure seamless match-day operations.
