Job summary

Minor Hotels, launching NH Collection Sydney, is seeking an exceptional Rooms Division Manager to lead the pre-opening team and set the standard for guest experiences from day one.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Concierge and Guest Services, driving service excellence and commercial outcomes in a premium environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Rooms Division Manager or equivalent senior hotel operations leader.
• Experience in premium, luxury, or lifestyle hotel environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with revenue, labour, and budget oversight.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Concierge and Guest Services.
• Drive guest satisfaction through personalised service and proactive engagement.
• Maintain exceptional cleanliness and presentation across the hotel.
• Manage room revenue performance, occupancy and departmental costs.
• Conduct quality reviews and implement guest-focused initiatives.
• Lead and develop department leaders to build a high-performing culture.
• Resolve complex guest concerns with professionalism and solutions focus.
• Collaborate across Rooms Division, F&B and Sales teams.
• Support pre-opening activities including recruitment and training.

Job Description

NH Collection Sydney is seeking an exceptional Rooms Division Manager to join our pre-opening team and play a pivotal leadership role in bringing our newest hotel to life.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you will lead the Rooms Division operation, overseeing Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Concierge, and Guest Services.

This is a unique opportunity to establish service standards, build high-performing teams and create memorable guest experiences from day one.

About the Role

As Rooms Division Manager, you will be responsible for driving operational excellence across all areas of the Rooms Division while ensuring the seamless delivery of exceptional guest experiences.

Working as part of the pre-opening team, you will be instrumental in setting up operational procedures, recruiting and developing talent, implementing service standards and preparing the hotel for a successful opening. Once operational, you will continue to lead the day-to-day performance of the division, driving guest satisfaction, team engagement and commercial outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Guest Relations, Concierge, and Guest Services operations.
• Drive guest satisfaction through personalised service, proactive engagement and effective service recovery.
• Ensure exceptional standards of cleanliness and presentation throughout the hotel.
• Manage room revenue performance, occupancy and departmental costs.
• Conduct regular quality reviews and implement initiatives that enhance the guest experience.
• Lead, coach and develop department leaders and team members to build a high-performing culture.
• Resolve complex guest concerns with professionalism and a solutions-focused approach.
• Foster strong collaboration across Rooms Division, Food & Beverage and Sales teams.
• Support all pre-opening activities including recruitment, training, operational setup and service delivery planning.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Rooms Division Manager, Front Office Manager or senior hotel operations leader.
• Experience within premium, luxury or lifestyle hotel environments.
• Strong commercial acumen with experience managing revenue performance, labour costs and departmental budgets.
• A track record of leading and developing large operational teams.
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and service excellence.
• Outstanding leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• A hands‑on management style and the ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Previous pre‑opening experience will be highly regarded.
