Job summary

Roofcraft Australia PTY LTD – Brisbane QLD is seeking an experienced estimator to join our team. The role focuses on reviewing plans, producing detailed roofing estimates, and managing material take-offs and labour calculations across residential and commercial projects.

You will liaise with builders, clients and suppliers, identify variations and ensure competitive, viable estimates while maintaining accurate project records and a smooth handover to construction.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating within roofing or construction industry.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.

As our Roofing Estimator, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate estimates and tenders from plans, scopes and project documentation.

Key responsibilities

Reviewing architectural plans, engineering drawings and project scopes

Preparing detailed roofing estimates and quotations

Completing material take-offs and calculating labour requirements

Obtaining and comparing supplier pricing

Liaising with builders, clients and suppliers

Identifying project requirements, variations and potential issues

Ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive and commercially viable

Working closely with our operations and management team to ensure a smooth handover from estimating to construction

Maintaining accurate estimating and project records

Ordering materials

About you

Has experience estimating within the roofing or construction industry

Has a strong understanding of roofing materials, systems and installation methods

Can confidently read and interpret construction plans

Is highly organised and has excellent attention to detail

Can work independently and manage multiple quotes and deadlines

Has strong communication and negotiation skills

Is confident using computers and estimating software

Understands the importance of accurate quantities, pricing and margins

Takes pride in producing quality work

Has a practical, solutions-focused approach
