Top End Roofing is seeking an experienced Roofing Estimator to join our dynamic team in Hervey Bay, QLD. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our business operations. As a Roofing Estimator, you will be responsible for providing accurate cost assessments and project quotes for our roofing contracts. This role is essential to our ability to win new business, manage project profitability, and maintain strong relationships with clients. You will work closely with our project management team, site supervisors, and clients to ensure that all estimates are comprehensive, competitive, and delivered on time.

What you'll be doing

Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for roofing projects both Domestic and Commercial Projects.

Conduct site visits and surveys to assess project scope, materials required, and labour costs

Analyse project specifications, drawings, and plans to determine resource requirements

Research and source current material costs, supplier pricing, and labour rates

Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and discuss project scope

Collaborate with project managers and supervisors to refine estimates and identify cost-saving opportunities

Maintain accurate records of all estimates and historical project data for future reference

Review completed projects against original estimates to improve future accuracy

Provide technical advice and recommendations to clients regarding roofing solutions and materials

What we’re looking for

Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator or in a similar estimating role within the construction industry

Strong knowledge of roofing materials, methods, and industry standards

Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office applications

Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail

Ability to read and interpret architectural plans, drawings, and specifications

Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

Understanding of construction costs, labour rates, and material pricing

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines

Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel to project sites for inspections and surveys

Experience in the roofing industry or related construction trades is highly desirable

Knowledge of Queensland building codes and regulations is advantageous
