Job summary

Rosebel Gold Mines N.V. is seeking a reliable Rodman to support Mine Engineering and assist the Surveyor or Instrument Man with field assignments on site in Brokopondo.

The role involves handling surveying equipment, taking measurements, collecting data, and marking in the field under the Senior Surveyor's direction. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of relevant experience in surveying or related fields, a valid driver's license, and the willingness to learn GPS and other surveying

Responsibilities

• Assist Surveyor or Instrument Man with planning and field activities to ensure safe, accurate execution within timeframes.
• Assist with staking out drill patterns, pit/bench limits, ore packets, and other survey points for daily mining activities.
• Provide and maintain accurate survey marks to support Mine Engineering and ensure correct dimensions and specifications.
• Perform follow-up checks after staking to verify correct positioning and task completion.
• Support mining, exploration, construction, and special projects following HSE requirements and maintaining a safe environment.

Job description

We are seeking a reliable and safety conscious Rodman to support Mine Engineering and assist the Surveyor or Instrument Man with field assignments. The role involves assisting with surveying equipment, measurements, data collection, and field marking as directed by the Senior Surveyor. The successful candidate must follow instructions, work effectively in a team, and ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately. Safety, attention to detail, and compliance with HSE procedures are essential for this position.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assist the Surveyor or Instrument Man with proper planning and work preparation to ensure field activities are executed safely, accurately, completely, and within the required timeframe.

• Assist with staking out drill patterns, pit and bench limits, ore packets, and other survey points required to support daily mining activities.

• Provide and maintain accurate survey marks to support Mine Engineering and ensure mining activities are carried out according to the required dimensions, grades, and specifications.

• Perform follow-up checks after staking to verify that survey marks remain correctly positioned and that assigned work has been completed as required.

• Support mining, exploration, construction, and special projects while following HSE requirements and maintaining a safe and environmentally responsible work area.

The ideal candidate will have:

• LTS/MULO diploma or an equivalent qualification. Candidates with extensive relevant on-the-job training and practical experience may also be considered.

• At least 2 years of relevant work experience, preferably in surveying, mining, construction, or a similar operational environment.

• Demonstrated safety awareness and the ability to consistently follow company HSE standards, procedures, and safe work practices while working in the field.

• Strong teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Surveyors, Instrument Men, and other team members.

• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tasks, procedures, equipment, and technology. Willingness to be trained in the use of GPS and

  surveying equipment.

• A valid driver’s license and the ability to work in field conditions are required.

• Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

• If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
