Unipart is seeking a Robotics Software Engineer to contribute to AMR and Fleet Management System software, supporting live operations on-site and remotely. You will develop onboard software and fleet-behavior control, collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient autonomous logistics.

The role requires ROS/ROS 2 expertise, strong C++17 and Python 3 skills, and experience with hardware interfaces (CANopen, SocketCAN) and MQTT/Rosbridge for system integration.

Qualifikationen

• Experience with ROS/ROS 2, including Lifecycle nodes.
• Proficient in C++17 and Python 3.
• Experience in mobile robotics and CANopen/serial/Ethernet interfaces.
• Git version control knowledge.
• Ability to work independently within a high-performance team.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with MQTT, Rosbridge, and FMS/WCS integration.
• Knowledge of path planning (A*, graph routing).
• Serial communication (UART/USB) and Arduino integration.

Aufgaben

• Provide on-site support for live operations to ensure customer SLAs.
• Develop, maintain, optimise and test software for AMR and FMS.
• Design and deploy performance-optimised vision processing and localisation algorithms.
• Hardware interfacing: CANopen, serial interfaces, Ethernet networks.
• Collaborate with AMR stakeholders and follow business processes.
• Support hardware/software integration and live operation
