Job summary

Meta seeks a product attorney to serve as Associate General Counsel for Meta Robotics Studio, advising on a broad range of issues globally as we build robots. This role collaborates with engineering, ML, hardware, policy, and other teams to create foundational frameworks from first principles.

Minimum qualifications include a JD, bar license, 8+ years of experience, and strong advisory experience on tech products, with proficiency in risk assessment and cross-functional leadership.

Qualifications

• JD or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution.
• Active and in good standing bar license in at least one U.S. state or equivalent foreign bar.
• 8+ years of legal experience in law firms, in-house, or government.
• Ability to work in ambiguity and reason from first principles.
• Experience advising technology, internet, or media products.
• Strong written and spoken communication, and business judgment.

Responsibilities

• Address novel legal questions with no precedent and provide practical, strategic guidance.
• Assess new products/features to identify legal risks across jurisdictions.
• Advise on AI regulation, hardware, data protection, IP, safety, and related areas.
• Advise ML teams on dataset licensing, provenance, and model development.
• Manage legal arc from prototype to manufacturing, including safety and compliance.
• Draft and negotiate contracts for partnerships, manufacturing, and data services.
• Collaborate with product/tech teams to impart product knowledge for legal advice.
• Lead high-impact projects with cross-functional stakeholders to assess risks.
• Build playbooks and templates to scale the legal function within Reality Labs.
• Influence product decisions to align with legal/regulatory requirements.
• Proactively identify roadblocks and develop risk-mitigation plans.
