Job summary

Meta Robotics Studio is seeking a Research Engineer to tackle mechanical and electrical design challenges in advanced robotics. You will help design, prototype, test, and iterate robotic systems balancing ergonomics, performance, and safety while exploring electro-mechanics, sensors, and planning and control.

You will collaborate across disciplines with engineers to deliver robust subsystems and full robots, contribute to simulations and hardware development, and help push forward in Meta's

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical/electrical design engineering experience.
• Experience designing electromechanical assemblies (robotics, automation, aerospace).
• Proficient with CAD tools (SOLIDWORKS/Siemens NX).
• Experience with prototyping processes and materials.
• Experience with embedded systems and communication protocols.

Responsibilities

• Design and development: mechanical and electrical robotics system design balancing ergonomics, performance, reliability.
• Supporting parts manufacture: coordinate with partners for fabrication and sub-assemblies.
• Assembly of robot: hands-on lab work from sub-assemblies to full prototypes.
• Failure analysis: build test fixtures, design tests, run tests, analyze data, refine designs.
• Collaboration: work with cross-functional engineers to deliver technical solutions.
