Job summary

Allpress Espresso seeks a Roasting Assistant in Melbourne to join our roasting team and support production from roasting through to packing, helping uphold Allpress Espresso’s high-quality coffee standards.

You’ll work closely with the Roasting Lead, grow your craft in roasting, and contribute to a team that takes pride in consistently great coffee.

Qualifications

• Experience roasting coffee and knowledge of roasting processes.
• Strong attention to quality and consistency.
• Ability to work to production schedules in a fast-paced environment.

About your new role

We’re looking for an experienced Roasting Assistant to join our Melbourne roasting teamto support in delivering consistent, high-quality coffee that meets Allpress Espresso’s production requirements.

Working closely with the Roasting Lead, the Roasting Assistant plays a hands‑on role across the roastery - supporting everything from roasting and production through to packing. It’s a great opportunity to build your skills, further your craft in roasting, and grow your product knowledge as part of a team that takes pride in consistently great coffee.

A day in the life

• Support roasting and production to deliver coffee we're proud of
• Help keep things moving by meeting production targets and maintaining quality standards
• Take care of the roastery through day‑to‑day upkeep and equipment care
• Assist with packing and preparing orders ready for our customers
• Pitch in with stock and help keep the space organised and running smoothly
• Work closely with the team to keep everything flowing and support each other day to day

About you

Ideally, you’ll come from a roasting background and have an interest in specialty coffee. You'll be someone who:

• Has previous knowledge and experience of roasting coffee
• Has strong attention to detail and a focus on quality and consistency
• Is confident working to processes and production schedules in a fast‑paced environment
• Brings a positive, collaborative approach and clear communication skills

A forklift licence is a bonus.
