Job summary

Mount Isa Mines is advertising a residential Roads & Waste Operator Leading Hand in Mount Isa, Queensland. Reporting to the Supervisor Roads & Waste, you will assist the crew in maintaining roads, haul roads and site infrastructure on the MIM lease, including waste management tasks, while prioritising safety and efficiency.

The role requires relevant licenses and heavy equipment experience. The position operates on a 5/2 day shift roster, with a focus on teamwork, timely delivery, and adherence

Qualifications

• Experience in heavy industry is advantageous.
• Experience with heavy mobile equipment is preferred.
• S1, S2 and S3 licenses are essential.
• HR license and forklift ticket are beneficial.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software.
• Sound time management and coordination abilities.
• Commitment to safety and high-quality workmanship.
• Strong customer service orientation and teamwork.

Mount Isa Mines are currently advertising a vacancy that exists for the position of Roads & Waste Operator Leading Hand. Reporting to the Supervisor Roads & Waste, this position is residentially based in Mount Isa. The working roster for this position is 5/2 day shift only.

You will be responsible for:

• Assisting the supervisor and crew with maintaining the sealed roads, haul roads, signage, road & rail infrastructure across MIM lease
• Other areas include the MIM landfill, site waste collection and scrap steel disposal across the mine site
• Proactive and strong commitment to safety

The successful candidate will possess:

• Previous heavy industry experience would be an advantage
• Preferred experience in the use of heavy mobile equipment
• S1, S2, S3 essential
• HR truck license and forklift ticket would also be an advantage
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft software
• Valid manual driver’s license
• Flexible attitude and sound work ethic
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to achieve results within the specified time frames
• Coordinating personnel (including contractors) and equipment required to fulfil the role, crew safety adherence as per site standards and procedures,
• Knowledge of best practice road maintenance and waste management would be highly advantageous
• Strong customer service along with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work well within a team environment or with minimal supervision
