Job summary

Genesis Recruitment Solutions in Parramatta is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager to own the commercial outcomes for a flagship road project valued at $500M+. You will lead a five-person team and provide strategic commercial, procurement and risk guidance across complex contracts.

The role is a 6-month contract with potential to influence delivery during a critical project phase. You will oversee risk, procurement, claims and variations, while partnering with project directors and delivery

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in major road infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to lead commercial outcomes on large-scale construction projects.
• Track record in procurement, contract management and project delivery.
• Strong understanding of commercial risk management and allocation.
• Experience managing claims, variations and contractor negotiations.
• Experience leading and developing commercial teams.
• Knowledge of GC21 contracts desirable.
• Experience in NSW Government or major infrastructure environments is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial management of a major roads infrastructure contract valued at approximately $500M.
• Provide strategic advice on risk, procurement, contract administration, claims, variations and commercial outcomes.
• Manage and mentor a team of commercial professionals.
• Support delivery of Construct and Design & Construct (D&C) contracts.
• Drive proactive risk identification, mitigation and dispute avoidance strategies.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams to maintain strong commercial performance throughout execution.
• Oversee contractor performance, claims, extensions of time and contract compliance.
• Support procurement activities and strategic sourcing decisions.
