Job summary

Fraser Coast Regional Council is seeking multiple team members for hands-on road and drainage maintenance in Hervey Bay and Maryborough. You will operate council plant, perform pothole repairs, drainage works and bitumen patching, and assist with traffic control under safety guidelines.

This temporary full-time role includes an annual allowance and a 9-day fortnight, with opportunities across Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Tiaro and Oakhurst.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor operations, construction or maintenance.
• Experience operating machinery, power tools or heavy vehicles.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., traffic control, machinery licences).
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Strong safety compliance and WHS knowledge.
• White Card (Qld GC Induction) required.
• Willingness to undergo a police check.
• Current MR licence; ability to work across Hervey Bay, Maryborough, Tiaro and Oakhurst.

Responsibilities

• Deliver road construction and maintenance works including pothole repairs and drainage works.
• Assist with traffic control in line with safety schemes.
• Safely operate and maintain Council vehicles, plant and tools with pre-start checks.
• Collaborate across teams and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Apply safe systems of work, WHS obligations and hazard handling.
• Provide courteous service in the field and escalate issues as needed.
• Record work completion and timesheets in systems.
