Wollongong City Council is seeking an experienced truck driver to operate and maintain road sweeping vehicles across the Wollongong Local Government Area. You will conduct pre-start and routine maintenance checks, respond to service requests, and document work using tablets, while delivering courteous public service.

The role is full-time at Central Depot, North Wollongong, on a 9-day fortnight schedule with potential overtime and night shifts.

Qualifications

• Current MR Driver Licence or higher.
• Experience operating road sweepers or heavy vehicles.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Physical ability to perform manual tasks.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain road sweeping vehicles across scheduled routes.
• Complete pre-start inspections and daily maintenance checks.
• Clean public areas using vehicle-mounted equipment and respond to service requests.
• Record completed work using tablets and electronic systems.
• Provide courteous, professional service to customers.
