Job summary

Acusensus in Canberra is seeking a Road Safety Technology Operator Team Leader to run the ACT field operations, deploy enforcement trailer systems and lead a hands-on team delivering safe, reliable operations.

Based in the ACT, you will oversee deployment schedules, coach operators, and collaborate with engineers and authorities to ensure compliance and continuous improvement of our road-safety technology.

Qualifications

• Experience leading, supervising or coordinating a field-based or operational team.
• Ability to safely tow and reverse heavy trailers; basic mechanical knowledge and minor maintenance skills.
• Strong organisational skills to coordinate schedules, resources and competing priorities.
• Comfort with computers and the ability to learn new technology and equipment.
• Excellent communication with team members, technical staff and stakeholders.
• Proactive troubleshooting and decision-making for continuous improvement.
• Commitment to workplace safety, compliance and responsible driving.
• Current driver’s licence and an excellent driving record.
• Year 12 certificate or equivalent is required.
• Experience in field operations, equipment deployment, fleet operations, enforcement or emergency services is highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor and develop the RSTO team, including recruitment, training, rostering, performance management and team wellbeing.
• Coordinate deployment, relocation and retrieval of enforcement trailers and mobile speed camera vehicles in line with schedules.
• Ensure team members are trained, accredited and authorised for their duties.
• Provide hands-on technical support and troubleshoot field equipment, including minor maintenance.
• Collaborate with Help Desk, Project Engineers and fleet support to maintain readiness and minimise downtime.
• Deliver training and accreditation for enforcement programs and equipment (TS1 and TruCAM II).
• Promote a safety-first culture and ensure WHS compliance and company procedures.
• Monitor team performance and escalate risks when required.
• Support equipment testing, trials and new technology deployments.
• Build relationships with road authorities and stakeholders to support deployments.
• Attend court appearances and provide technical information or evidence when required.
