Job summary

Wellington Shire Council is seeking a Road Management and Operations General Operator to join our Maffra Depot on a permanent full-time basis. Reporting to the Team Leader, your role will provide general support services to the road crew for the improvement and maintenance of Council’s road network across Wellington Shire.

As our ideal candidate, you will be a team player and be willing to learn how to carry out maintenance of roads, roadsides and drains.

Qualifications

• Willingness to learn how to operate tractors, trucks, loaders, plant, and equipment used for road maintenance.
• Ability to efficiently complete work in the most effective manner while ensuring Occupational Health & Safety practices are always observed.
• A strong work ethic, can-do attitude, and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide general support services to the road crew for the improvement and maintenance of Council’s road network across Wellington Shire.
• Learn how to operate relevant plant and equipment.
