Job summary

Civil Services Group seeks Safety Advisors based in the Mackay region with road infrastructure experience to support our Bruce Highway Targeted Safety Program deployments and tenders. Assignments range from one to two years, with potential extensions and opportunities on new tenders.

Local candidates preferred; FIFO/DIDO may be considered. Applicants must have at least two years of road infrastructure safety advisory experience and strong knowledge of OH&S legislation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years’ Safety Advising experience on Road Infrastructure construction projects
• Strong understanding of OH&S legislation (Australian Standards)
• Time management and prioritisation capabilities, with ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
• Some formal qualifications to support experience

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and implementation of health and safety plans
• Complete risk assessments, audits, task observations and safety investigations
• Maintain project documentation per requirements and ensure adherence to legislation
• Manage and develop relationships with employees and stakeholders
