Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong seeks a motivated Registered Nurse Grade 2 to join the BAX7 unit in Medicine, Specialist Medicine and Emergency. You will deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care, collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, and support positive patient outcomes in a busy general medical environment.

The role is temporary part-time, with opportunities for professional development and involvement in quality improvement activities, within a supportive hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-acuity, complex clinical environment.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive and dynamic team environment.
• Understanding of or willingness to develop skills in endocrinology and infectious diseases nursing care.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, evidence-based, patient-centred nursing care in accordance with professional and organisational standards.
• Monitor, assess, and respond to the complex needs of acute oncology and haematology patients.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated and high-quality care planning and delivery.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation using Barwon Health systems.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and continuous professional development activities.
• Support patients and families through clear communication, education, and compassionate care.
