Job summary

Australian Payments Plus is seeking a Manager, Business Risk to strengthen the Group Risk control environment and lead assurance activities across the organisation.

In this role you will plan and execute control design and operating effectiveness testing, translate findings into actionable insights, and partner with control owners to drive sustained improvements. You will report on control maturity and contribute to developing AP+’s risk management capabilities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years' experience in risk management in a complex organisation.
• Hands-on experience with risk assessment, control implementation, control assurance/testing and risk mitigation.
• Strong understanding of risk management frameworks and industry best practices.
• Ability to translate assurance findings into clear reporting and actionable insights.
• Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Knowledge of financial services or IT risk environments is advantageous.
• Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration or related discipline; professional risk or compliance qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver control assurance activities according to the Group Risk plan, ensuring testing is risk-based and timely.
• Plan and execute control design and operating effectiveness testing with sound judgment.
• Translate assurance findings into meaningful insights and remediation recommendations.
• Partner with control owners to validate outcomes and drive improvements.
• Monitor and report on the delivery of the Control Assurance Plan and remediation progress.
• Provide management with visibility of the strength and maturity of AP+’s control environment.
• Contribute to ongoing development of AP+’s control assurance approach and ownership practices.
