Job summary

Australian Payments Plus in Sydney is seeking a Manager, Business Risk to strengthen the group’s control environment by providing assurance over key controls.

You will plan and execute control assurance activities, assess effectiveness, and work with control owners to drive remediation.

The role offers the opportunity to influence how controls are designed and embedded across AP+ and to advance the risk management capability.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in risk management within a complex organisation.
• Strong knowledge of risk assessment, control implementation, and control assurance/testing.
• Understanding of risk management frameworks and industry best practice.
• Ability to translate assurance data into actionable insights.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Financial services or payments technology familiarity is advantageous.
• Relevant tertiary qualification; professional risk/compliance qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver control assurance activities in line with the Group Risk Control Assurance Plan.
• Plan and execute test of control design and operating effectiveness.
• Translate assurance findings into insights and identify improvement opportunities.
• Partner with control owners to validate outcomes and drive remediation.
• Monitor and report on control assurance progress and maturity.
• Provide management with visibility of the control environment strength.
• Contribute to ongoing development of AP+’s control assurance approach.
