Job summary

Great Southern Bank is seeking an Advisor, Business Controls in Melbourne to support risk and compliance across Operations. You will partner with the business to identify risks, test controls and provide insights that strengthen the risk environment.

You will also monitor risk appetite, support incident management, and coach stakeholders to improve risk awareness and capability across the organisation.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years' experience in financial services with understanding of operational risk and compliance.
• Experience in risk governance, controls and reporting requirements within a financial institution.
• Experience in controls testing and assurance activities will be highly regarded.

Responsibilities

• Partner with stakeholders to identify and assess risks, obligations and controls.
• Monitor and test control environment for effectiveness.
• Support incident and issue management including root cause analysis.
• Monitor risk appetite, KRIs, thresholds and triggers; flag emerging risks.
• Provide meaningful risk insights from risk, control and GRC data.
• Support risk oversight of business and change initiatives.
• Leverage AI tools to improve processes and awareness.
• Coach stakeholders to strengthen risk culture.
