Job summary

Health Insurance Fund of Australia (HIF) is seeking a Risk Consultant to support the Risk Manager and the Risk & Compliance team. You will strengthen risk practices, embed the Risk Management Framework, and provide insights into risk and internal control across the business.

You will collaborate with stakeholders, review risk assessments, identify control gaps and recommend practical improvements to enhance risk awareness and accountability.

Qualifications

• Two years+ experience in risk, risk and compliance, or related role.
• Knowledge of AS/NZS ISO 31000:2018 and APRA CPS 220/230 prudential standards.
• Experience developing or enhancing risk management frameworks.
• Ability to analyse business processes, identify control gaps and propose improvements.
• Experience in risk assessment, mitigation, investigation and remediation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for policies, procedures and reports.
• Comfort working with data to identify trends and support risk reporting.
• Experience with internal audit, process improvement or ERM systems such as Protecht.ERM is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support the Risk Manager and Risk & Compliance team to strengthen risk practices.
• Maintain and embed the Risk Management Framework across the business.
• Provide independent challenge of risk assessments and risk register reviews.
• Identify control gaps and recommend practical improvements.
• Support second-line control assurance activities and risk reporting.
