Job summary

Liverpool City Council is seeking a Risk Officer to join the Audit, Risk and Improvement function. You will coordinate enterprise risk management, ensure risks are identified, assessed and reported, and support reporting for Executive Leadership Team and ARIC.

The role requires tertiary risk-management experience, stakeholder engagement, and strong analytical and communication skills. A hybrid, 35-hour week and permanent employment are offered, with salary dependent on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level or higher in risk management, governance, audit, finance or related field; equivalent experience may apply.
• Experience in risk management, audit, governance or assurance.
• Proven ability to lead and deliver audit projects from planning to reporting.
• Ability to engage stakeholders and influence positive risk behaviours.
• High attention to detail and capability to manage multiple priorities.
• Strong analytical, reporting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and strengthen enterprise risk management across the organisation.
• Identify, assess, monitor and report risks per the Risk Management Framework.
• Assist in preparing reports for the Executive Leadership Team and ARIC.
• Provide timely reporting support for Executive and ARIC meetings.
• Identify and monitor compliance risks with legislation, regulations, standards and Council policies.
