Job summary

Santa Maria College in Melbourne is seeking a diligent Risk and Compliance Officer (0.6FTE) on an ongoing part-time basis. The role supports risk management frameworks, audits, and HR-related compliance activities within the Administration Team and reports to the Principal via the Business Manager.

The ideal candidate will have experience in enterprise risk management, compliance, and strong communication skills, with CWCC/ NPC checks and a collaborative, confidential approach to workplace

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management is desirable.
• Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety is desirable.
• Experience managing Enterprise Risk Management, compliance and incident reporting systems.
• Experience providing risk and compliance support and delivering management strategies.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to translate complex legislation into plain language.
• Professional interpersonal skills and calmness under pressure.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of staff and college information.

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a diligent Ongoing Part Time Risk and Compliance Officer (0.6FTE) with experience within HR (but not essential). The College is flexible around days and hours across either 3 or 4 days for the successful candidate.

The Risk and Compliance Officer works closely with the Business Manager, HR Manager, Operations, Learning Leaders and leadership team to ensure the College’s frameworks are developed and properly managed to control risks, improve operational efficiencies and ensure compliance with the relevant standards and regulations.

The role will involve administration, risk and compliance documentation, auditing and reporting across a range of key business areas and will also involve supporting the HR Manager when required.

The Risk and Compliance Officer is a member of the Administration Team and in this role is directly accountable to the Principal through the Business Manager.

About you

• Certificate IV in Compliance and Risk Management (desirable)
• Certificate IV in Work, Health & Safety (desirable)
• Previous experience managing Enterprise Risk Management, compliance and incident reporting systems
• Experience and expertise in providing risk and compliance support and supporting delivery of management strategies
• Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and guidelines with which the College must comply
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Ability to convert and interpret complex legislation or information into plain language
• Demonstrate interpersonal skills- effectively deal with others in a professional manner, remain calm in challenging situations and diligent in following up on matters
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality with both documentation and information pertaining to staff and college
• Ability to build, establish and maintain relationships and manage multiple stakeholders
• Proficient in the use of ICT for communication and record keeping.
