Sacred Heart College Geelong is seeking an experienced Risk and Compliance Manager to support governance, risk management, compliance and occupational health and safety functions.

The role focuses on developing and improving the college's risk framework, providing expert advice across risk, governance, insurance, policies and safety to enable informed decision-making and continuous improvement within a Catholic school community.

Qualifikationen

• Qualification in Risk Management, Compliance, OH&S, Governance or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
• Strong knowledge of risk management, regulatory requirements and governance.
• Experience leading risk/compliance processes, audits and continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage priorities, work autonomously and engage stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication aligned with Mercy values.

THE POSITION

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Risk and Compliance Manager to support the College's governance, risk management, compliance and occupational health and safety functions.

• Commencement: As mutually agreed with the successful applicant.
• Employment Type: Ongoing, part-time (0.8 FTE)

The Risk and Compliance Manager plays a key role in developing, coordinating and continuously improving the College's risk and compliance framework, supporting the College to meet its legislative, regulatory and policy obligations.

Working closely with College leaders, the position provides specialist advice and coordinates activities across risk management, governance, insurance, policies and procedures, occupational health and safety, incident management and emergency preparedness.

The successful applicant will bring sound judgement, initiative and strong stakeholder engagement skills to support effective governance, informed decision-making and a proactive culture of risk awareness and continuous improvement.

ABOUT YOU

In addition to fulfilling the Primary Purpose and Key Responsibilities outlined in the position description, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following selection criteria:

Essential

• Relevant qualification in Risk Management, Compliance, Business, Occupational Health and Safety, Governance or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Sound knowledge of risk management, compliance, governance and relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Demonstrated experience in managing risk and compliance processes, including risk assessment, compliance monitoring, incident management, audits and continuous improvement.
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to exercise sound judgement, manage competing priorities and work autonomously.
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to provide practical advice and build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
• Commitment to upholding and promoting the College's mission and Mercy values.

Desirable

• Professional industry membership or involvement in relevant networks.
• Understanding of the principles of a Catholic community organisation.
