Job summary

SMW Group in Central Queensland is seeking experienced Riggers to join our shutdown and maintenance teams across multiple sites. You will support planned shutdowns, breakdown response and ongoing maintenance activities in heavy industrial environments.

You will perform dogging and rigging per lift plans, safely moving and positioning equipment, and collaborating with mechanical and maintenance crews to ensure efficient execution of work scopes while upholding site safety, permits and procedures.

Qualifications

• HRW Licence – Rigging (High Risk Work Licence) is required.
• Experience in shutdowns, maintenance or heavy industry environments.
• Strong understanding of safe rigging practices and load control.

Responsibilities

• Perform dogging and rigging activities in accordance with lift studies and plans
• Safely sling, lift and position equipment and materials
• Interpret lift plans and ensure safe load control practices are followed
• Work collaboratively within shutdown and maintenance crews
• Maintain compliance with site safety systems, permits and procedures

With established workshop and site based operations, SMW Group delivers reliable, compliant and experienced crews to meet operational demands across the region.

We are currently seeking experienced Riggers to join our shutdown and maintenance teams across multiple sites in Central Queensland. These roles will see you working within established crews, supporting planned shutdowns, breakdown response and ongoing maintenance activities in heavy industrial environments.

In this role, you will be responsible for performing dogging and rigging duties in line with lift plans and site procedures, safely moving and positioning equipment and structural components, and working closely with mechanical and maintenance teams to support efficient execution of work scopes.
