Job summary

Metcash Trading Limited, owner of the Mitre 10 Queanbeyan store, is hiring a Casual Retail Team Member to join our hardware-focused team. You will deliver friendly customer service, help with orders, stock handling, merchandising, and light admin tasks.

Work is on-site across a 7-day rotating roster, with at least one weekend day. Availability for 10–20 hours per week is preferred; prior hardware experience is not required, and a team-focused attitude is essential.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated customer service orientation.
• Experience working in a team environment is valued.
• Ability to learn safety systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and assist with order fulfillment.
• Stock and merchandise store areas, especially hardware products.
• Assist with general admin tasks as required.
• Support stock control and merchandising efforts.
• Uphold health and safety standards for staff and customers.

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic and motivatedRetail Team Memberto join our team at ourMitre 10 Queanbeyan store.

We are looking for several Casual positions rostering 10-20 hours per week between Monday and Sunday.

What you will be doing

• Providing excellent customer service, helping them with their orders, and providing them with fast, efficient service
• Putting away stock, mainly hardware products
• Supporting with admin tasks as required
• Stock and store merchandising
• Ensuring the health and safety of all fellow staff, customers and contractors within their department

What you will bring

• Demonstrated strong customer focus and ability to work in a team environment
• Background in hardware and retail an advantage but not essential
• Knowledge of, or the ability to learn safety systems highly regarded
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• An eye for detail and a sense of urgency
• Ability to be available to work across a 7 day rotating roster and must be available for at least one weekend day.
