Job summary

Total Tools Ballarat is seeking a Casual Retail Sales Assistant with a passion for tools and trades. You will help customers, process sales, maintain displays and stock, and provide friendly, knowledgeable service in a fast-paced environment.

You’ll work weekdays and some weekends, be comfortable with technology, and enjoy a supportive team that values great service and hands-on product knowledge from brands like Bosch, Makita, and Milwaukee.

Qualifications

• Previous retail and/or trade experience.
• Passion for tools and knowledge of trades.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Comfortable with technology and POS systems.
• Able to work weekdays and some weekends.
• Willingness to learn product knowledge.
• Forklift licence advantageous but not essential.
• Reliable, punctual and a strong team player.

Job description

Total Tools Ballarat is looking for a Casual Retail Sales Assistant, who has a real passion for tools & trades. This is an exciting opportunity for you to utilise your current skills and experience within a growing and diverse business.

This position will suit a motivated individual with strong attention to detail and a focus on customer service. Working with a variety of team members and customers, you will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build solid, long-term relationships.

What will you be doing?

• Processing sales transactions
• Providing advice and information on products
• Supporting customer queries and offering solutions
• Maintaining store displays and ensuring a well-presented store
• Processing and maintaining customer orders

Does this sound like you?

• Previous retail and/or trade experience – you might be a retail star, or a tradie looking for a break from the tools
• Has worked with, understands, and has a passion for tools
• Enthusiastic, highly motivated, and a phenomenal teammate
• Dedicated to providing exceptional customer service
• Comfortable with technology – computer literacy is a must
• Availability to work weekdays and some weekends (not every weekend).
• Flexible availability between 7:00am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday.
• Weekend trading hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm Saturday and 9:00am to 4:00pm Sunday.
• Providing outstanding customer service and product advice.
• Assisting with stock replenishment, merchandising, and maintaining store presentation.
• Working effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Reliable, punctual, and motivated with a positive attitude.
• Comfortable with manual handling and being on your feet throughout the day.
• Retail sales experience is highly regarded.
• Trade, hardware, building, construction, automotive, or tool industry knowledge is a bonus.
• Forklift licence advantageous, but not essential.
• Willingness to learn and develop product knowledge.
