Job summary

Great Southland Bullion Pty Ltd is seeking a hands-on Retail Operations Leader to manage the daily retail and vault-storage activities at our Belmont facility. You will coach staff, oversee bullion and non-bullion transactions, and ensure secure, compliant customer service.

The role emphasizes leadership, cash control, inventory accuracy and customer-focused problem solving in a high-value environment.

Qualifications

• Retail-management or customer-service leadership experience.
• Hands-on leader who coaches people and serves customers.
• Experience in cash, inventory, reconciliation, security and recordkeeping.
• Commercial awareness with sales, pricing and margins.
• Excellent attention to detail, judgement, organisation and communication.
• Comfortable using computer software systems.
• Experience in precious metals, bullion, jewellery or secure storage is helpful.

Job description

Lead a specialist retail operation where trust matters. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining customer service, sales, team development, bullion and precious‑metals transactions, inventory, cash control and Safety Deposit Box services. You will set the standard on the retail floor, support employees to work confidently and compliantly, and ensure every customer interaction is professional, secure and well managed.

Key responsibilities

Lead the daily retail and vault-storage operation

Manage, coach and develop customer‑facing employees

Oversee bullion sales and purchases, non‑bullion precious‑metal purchases and Safety Deposit Box services

Maintain excellent customer service and resolve complex enquiries or complaints

Manage cash, inventory, reconciliations, security and control records

Check authorised bullion prices and ensure pricing is consistent across customer‑facing systems

Maintain compliance with AML/CTF, second‑hand dealer, privacy, safety and company requirements

Monitor retail results and provide management with practical sales, stock and customer insights

Implement approved product promotions, signage and customer communications

About you

Retail‑management or customer‑service leadership experience, ideally in a regulated or high‑value environment

A confident, hands‑on leader who enjoys coaching people and serving customers

Experience in cash, inventory, reconciliation, security and recordkeeping skills

Commercial awareness and confidence working with sales, pricing and margins

Excellent attention to detail, judgement, organisation and communication

Confidence learning and using point‑of‑sale, inventory and secure‑storage systems

Experience in precious metals, bullion, jewellery, financial services or secure storage is highly regarded but not essential

Comfortable using and learning computer software systems

Right to work in Australia and willingness to complete required pre‑employment checks
