Job summary

Metro North Hospital & Health Service in Brisbane is seeking a casual Retail Barista to contribute to quality improvement and values activities within Retail Services.

You will handle coffee orders, prepare food items, deliver exceptional customer service at all outlets, operate the POS, and work well in a busy team. The role offers flexible arrangements and a competitive salary with opportunities for development within Metro North Health.

Qualifications

• Experience as a barista and handling coffee orders.
• Experience in food preparation and preparation of items for sale.
• Strong customer service focus and ability to work in busy environments.

Responsibilities

• Barista duties including taking and processing coffee orders, maintaining quality and cleanliness.
• Preparation and serving of food items for sale.
• Provide high level customer service at all service points.
• Use POS to take orders, process payments, and give change/refunds as required.
• Work autonomously or in a team, prioritising tasks in a busy setting.
• Display product knowledge to assist customers with menu items and suggestions.

Job description

Casual opportunity to actively contribute to the quality improvement and values activities of Retail Services to maintain a culture of teamwork, high performance, respect, integrity and compassion within Retail Services.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Barista duties including the taking and processing of coffee orders whilst upholding quality and consistency, machine maintenance and cleanliness
• Preparation and serving of food items for sale
• Provide exceptionally high level of customer focused service at all service points and at all times throughout all internal Retail outlets
• Use of Point of Sale System to take orders, appropriately capture sales, accept payment (cash and EFTPOS) and provide change and refunds (as required)
• Ability to work in a busy environment, either as an individual or as part of a team, with an ability to prioritise tasks and manage time autonomously
• Display product knowledge to assist customers with menu item descriptions and to make informed decisions about products by providing suggestions of accompaniments or suitable alternatives.
