ActewAGL is seeking a seasoned Financial Controller Retail to join our Retail leadership team in Canberra. You will safeguard the integrity of financial reporting and support strategic decision-making.

This role blends technical accounting expertise with commercial acumen, leading month‑end close, balance sheet reconciliations and statutory reporting. CA or CPA qualified, with extensive experience in Australian accounting standards.

Qualifications

• Tertiary accounting qualification (Accounting or related discipline).
• CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
• Significant experience in a senior financial/management accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and technical accounting principles.

Responsibilities

• Lead the integrity and accuracy of Retail financial reporting.
• Manage month‑end close activities, balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger integrity.
• Deliver insightful analysis of revenue, margins and costs, identifying trends, risks and opportunities.
• Prepare and manage monthly Business Performance Reporting.
• Oversee year‑end audit processes and support statutory reporting.
• Provide technical accounting advice on strategic initiatives and business decisions.
• Partner with stakeholders across Retail Finance and related teams.
• Identify and implement opportunities to streamline and automate financial processes and controls.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.
• Lead, mentor and develop members of the Retail Finance team.
