Job summary

Metcash Trading Limited in Australia seeks a Retail Design Manager to lead store concepts from concept to completion. You will drive innovative supermarket and convenience designs, coordinating with retailers, architects, engineers and internal teams to meet retailer requirements and standards.

You will optimise layouts, space planning and customer flow while ensuring regulatory compliance and project efficiency across diverse store networks.

Qualifications

• tertiary qualifications in Architecture, Interior Design or related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years in supermarket/retail design and documentation.
• Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and visualisation tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver new supermarket developments and refurbishments from concept to completion.
• Coordinate projects ensuring budgets, retailer requirements and Metcash standards.
• Collaborate with retailers, developers, architects, engineers and contractors.
• Review construction docs for compliance with standards and store fit-out requirements.
• Conduct site investigations, audits and space planning analyses.
• Analyse store layouts to improve customer experience and efficiency.
• Provide design advice on store planning, signage, equipment and operations.
