Job summary

Ms Batterhams, nestled in the MacKenzie Quarters precinct, is seeking a Restaurant Supervisor to lead the front-of-house team and own service during lunch, dinner, and events.

You will work closely with the owners and kitchen, maintain flawless standards, mentor junior staff, and uphold our renowned beverage program and guest experience in a heritage setting. You’ll manage reservations, cash handling, and ensure a warm, seamless dining flow from welcome to farewell.

Qualifications

• Proven background in high-standard dining or boutique bars.
• RSA certification (Victorian).
• Flexible with nights, weekends and events.
• Strong leadership and guest service mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Floor: run polished lunch, dinner and event services with tempo and detail.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: guide and train junior FOH staff in service and brand standards.
• Beverage & Food Excellence: speak to the beverage program and dining menu with guests.
• Guest Connection: build rapport with regulars and precinct guests, handle inquiries gracefully.
• Operational Support: assist with opening/closing, cash handling, reservations, and keeping dining areas immaculate.

The Role

As a Supervisor, you will be the heartbeat of the floor during service. Working closely with the owners and our kitchen crew, you will ensure seamless dining flow, uphold service standards, and create memorable guest experiences from welcome to farewell.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the Floor: Run polished, energetic lunch, evening, and event services, maintaining tempo and attention to detail.
• Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, motivate, and train junior FOH staff in table service, drink knowledge, and brand standards.
• Beverage & Food Excellence: Confidently speak to our beverage program—including local wines, bespoke cocktails, and craft spirits—and guide guests through our dining menu.
• Guest Connection: Build genuine rapport with regulars, visitors, and precinct guests, handling enquiries and feedback with poise.
• Operational Support: Assist with opening/closing procedures, cash handling, reservation management, and maintaining an immaculate dining room and bar.

About You

You might already be an experienced supervisor looking for a more dynamic, creative venue, or a senior waitperson/bartender ready to take the next leap in your career.

• Experienced: Proven background in high-standard dining, boutique bars, or quality hospitality venues.
• Service-Driven: Natural warmth, intuitive customer service instincts, and a proactive eye for detail.

• Calm Under Pressure: Able to prioritise on the fly and keep service running smoothly when the room is humming.
• Qualified: Valid Victorian RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol).
