Job summary

Crown Melbourne is seeking a Supervisor to lead from the floor at Layal, Crown Melbourne’s Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant and bar. You will coach team members, drive service standards and deliver memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced, high-energy setting.

This role requires an energetic, hands-on leader who can manage staff rosters, maintain high service quality, and foster a warm, culturally rich hospitality environment. Availability for late nights and weekends is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a restaurant or premium hospitality environment.
• Strong communication and people leadership skills, with a hands-on approach.

The Role

We're seeking an energetic and passionate Supervisor to lead from the floor and support our high-performing team at LAYAL. In this hands‑on role, you'll drive exceptional guest experiences, coach and develop team members, and help deliver seamless day-to-day operations in one of Melbourne's most exciting hospitality destinations.

Layal is Crown Melbourne's newest Middle Eastern-inspired restaurant and bar, where bold flavours, handcrafted cocktails and premium shisha come together in a vibrant and social setting.

You will be an ambassador for the venue, creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring service reflects the warmth, energy and traditions of Middle Eastern hospitality.

In this role, you will:

You'll bring:

• Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a restaurant or premium hospitality environment.
• A passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
• Strong communication, coaching and people leadership skills, with the ability to lead confidently in a fast‑paced, high‑energy environment.
• A hands‑on leadership style with a focus on service excellence.
• Sound problem-solving and organisational skills, with the confidence to professionally navigate challenging guest situations.
• An appreciation and understanding of Middle Eastern culture, hospitality traditions and guest expectations is highly regarded.
• The ability to speak Arabic or another relevant Middle Eastern language is desirable.
• Comfort working in an environment where shisha smoking is permitted.
• Flexibility to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
