ALH Hotels' Coolum Beach Hotel is seeking a Restaurant Manager to lead the floor across our newly refreshed coastal dining spaces. You’ll own daily restaurant and bistro service, ensure flawless guest experiences, and partner with the Executive Kitchen team to maintain high standards.

You bring proven leadership in high-volume venues, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to coach front-of-house teams. RSA certification is required, and you’ll thrive in a busy, dynamic seaside setting.

• Proven experience in Restaurant/ Bistro management at a high-volume venue.
• Deep passion for food, beverage, and guest hospitality with high service standards.
• Exceptional leadership with a track record of building and retaining strong floor teams.
• Cool under pressure with strong problem-solving during peak periods.
• Current QLD RSA certificate.

Responsibilities

• Own daily restaurant and bistro service, especially during high-volume lunch and dinner.
• Partner with Head Chef and Kitchen team to ensure smooth pass, food quality, and fast service pace.
• Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house staff to drive service standards and hospitality.
• Manage floor reservations, section allocations, service flow, and dining room presentation.
• Ensure workplace health and safety, food safety standards, guest satisfaction, and liquor compliance.

Job description

Are you a passionate food and beverage leader ready to manage the floor at a newly transformed, world-class beachside hotel? The Coolum Beach Hotel offers a breathtaking, high-tempo stage for your leadership skills. As we undergo a massive venue renewal, we are looking for an energetic, hospitality-driven Restaurant Manager to take ownership of our high-volume dining room and bistro operations.

In this role, you’ll focus on what makes great coastal dining tick, flawless floor execution, warm beachfront hospitality, efficient service pacing, and building an inspired team of front-of-house professionals. Working closely with our Executive Kitchen team and Venue Manager, you will bring high standards, operational structure, and an infectious floor presence to every service.

A day in the life of a Restaurant Manager:

• You will take complete ownership of daily restaurant and bistro service, running the floor from the front during high-volume lunch and dinner trades.
• You will partner directly with the Head Chef and Kitchen team to ensure smooth pass management, high food quality, rapid service pacing, and seamless communication.
• You will lead, coach, and develop front-of-house restaurant staff, driving service standards, product knowledge, and tableside hospitality in our newly renewed spaces.
• You will manage floor reservations, section allocations, service flow, labor efficiency, and daily dining room presentation.
• You will maintain gold-standard workplace health and safety, food safety standards, guest satisfaction, and QLD liquor compliance.

About you:

• Proven experience as a Restaurant Manager, Bistro Manager, or Assistant Restaurant Manager in a high-volume venue, coastal dining precinct, or busy hotel bistro.
• Deep passion for food, beverage, and guest hospitality with an obsession for high service standards and active floor presence.
• Exceptional leadership and coaching skills with a proven track record of building, training, and retaining high-performing floor teams.
• Cool under pressure with sharp problem-solving skills during peak weekend trade and holiday rushes.
• Current QLD RSA certificate.

Inherent requirements:

This is a hands-on role that involves manual handling and lifting as part of regular duties (e.g. moving stock, kegs, and deliveries). Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks safely and efficiently.
