Job summary

Village Wine Bar, part of the Reymond Group, is seeking a career-focused hospitality professional to lead daily shift operations, demonstrate outstanding leadership, and drive exceptional guest service in a fast-paced, wine-driven setting.

You will manage front and back of house, coordinate stock and beverage programs, train staff, and maximise the floor plan during busy periods. The role offers an attractive salary, ongoing training, and generous employee discounts across Reymond Group venues.

Qualifications

• Have extensive knowledge of food. Experience in Italian and European cuisine will be favourable.
• Experience managing a team of floor staff and successfully running shifts.
• Be a good communicator and able to manage interactions between back and front of house.
• Manage stock control, beverage program, training, development and venue presentation.
• Ensure high levels of customer service and build rapport with regular guests.
• Hands-on and able to make autonomous decisions; strong organisational skills.
• Able to perform under pressure in a high-volume setting; knowledge of wine is a plus.

Responsibilities

As part of the Reymond Group family, Village Wine Bar is joined by L'Hotel Gitan in Prahran, Bistro Gitan in South Yarra and Frederic in Cremorne, in the Group portfolio.

You will have an understanding and respect for high quality food and exceptional standards of service. You'll be responsible for managing daily shift operations, demonstrating outstanding leadership and teamwork skills, and thriving in a fast-paced environment where no two shifts are the same.

Skills, Experience & Attributes

• Have extensive knowledge of food. Experience in Italian and European cuisine will be favourable.
• Have experience managing a team of floor staff and successfully running shifts
• Be a good communicator and be able to manage interactions between back and front of house
• Manage the control of stock, beverage program, training, development and venue presentation
• Ensurehigh levels of customer service, exceeding customer expectations and building personal rapport with our extensive cohort of regular guests
• Be hands on and confident in making autonomous decisions
• Have a high level of organisational and time management skills
• Be adaptable and able to perform under pressure in a high volume setting
• Keen interest and expansive knowledge of wine. WSET qualifications will be favourable, but not essential
• Confidence hosting busy services, managing walk-ins, successfully flipping tables on time, and maximising the floor plan during the busy and unpredictable summer period. Experience in SevenRooms will be favourable
• Work cooperatively with the Group senior management team
• Have a minimum 2+ years in a similar role
