Job summary

Stride is seeking a part-time support worker based in Ashfield, NSW, to provide quality services to people with a mental illness living in Mawarra Transitional Accommodation.

You will work in a client-centered, community-oriented setting, helping participants maintain relationships, improve daily living skills, and navigate available services. A Cert IV in mental health or related discipline is required, and you must be available for overnight shifts and a rotating 24/7 roster.

Qualifications

• Must have Cert IV in mental health or related discipline (diploma or bachelor preferred).
• Demonstrated listening, empathy and communication skills.
• Experience working with people experiencing mental illness.
• Ability to stay calm and sensitive with distressed individuals.
• Understand privacy, duty of care and confidentiality requirements.
• Ability to connect participants with community resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality support to people with mental illness in Mawarra Transitional Accommodation.
• Deliver client-centered, community-oriented support to promote independent living.
• Help participants build relationships and access services.
• Encourage personal hygiene and healthy living habits; assist with daily tasks.
• Support families and carers; work with government and community services.
