Job summary

Helping Hand Aged Care in Jamestown, SA is seeking a Casual Residential Care Worker to join our dedicated team. You’ll support residents with daily living, uphold dignity and privacy, and work with nurses, allied health and hotel services to deliver person-centred care.

Applicants should have Certificate III in Aged Care (or be studying towards nursing) and demonstrate good communication, basic tech skills, and willingness to obtain an NDIS check. Induction provided.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or studying toward nursing with placement completed.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
• 6–12 months experience as a residential care worker (aged care preferred).
• Ability to use smartphones and apps (Outlook).
• Valid NDIS worker screening check or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to live with dignity, choice and independence.
• Work with a diverse team including nurses, allied health, lifestyles and hotel services.
• Deliver personal care aligned with Helping Hand's service ethos.
• Maintain residents' privacy rights.
• Participate in learning activities to improve understanding of resident needs.

What You’ll Bring

• A Certificate III in Aged Care or studying towards a nursing qualification and have completed the placement stages
• Good communication skills, including the ability to speak and write clearly and accurately
• A minimum of 6-12 months experience as a residential care worker (ideally in an aged care setting)
• Ability to operate smartphones and apps (such as Microsoft Outlook)
• A valid NDIS worker screening check or be willing to obtain one

You’ll stand out from the crowd if you have some of the following

• Previous experience in the aged care sector
• The ability to work as part of a team
• Demonstrated ability to make decisions, take initiative and work independently
• Current First Aid certificate
