Job summary

UnitingCare Children, Young People and Families is hiring a Residential Care Practitioner in Toowoomba for a permanent part-time role (64 hours per fortnight). The position involves trauma-informed, therapeutic care in a residential setting, with reports and care planning as core duties.

A willingness to undertake CARE framework training is expected. The role requires a Certificate IV in related fields or equivalent experience, a current Blue Card, a valid Queensland driver licence, and First

Qualifications

• A minimum of a Certificate IV in Child, Youth & Family Intervention or Cert IV in Human Services, Community Services, Youth Services or related field.
• Experience applying the CARE model in practice and trauma-informed care approaches.
• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card) and Queensland Driver Licence.
• Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Work in accordance with the CARE model to support children, young people and families.
• Provide stable, trauma-informed, non-family-based care arrangements.
• Maintain a clean and safe home environment and manage day-to-day tasks in a residential care setting.
• Complete verbal and written reports per program policies and procedures.
• Flexibility to work weekdays, weekends and sleep-over shifts.
• Support care planning and relationship-building with families and community.
