Positive Transition - Each One Teach One is seeking compassionate residential support staff in Cairns, Queensland. You will provide day-to-day care, build trusting relationships with children and young people, and support participation in education, employment, recreation and community activities.

You will help them develop living skills while maintaining accurate records and collaborating with families and professionals.

Formación

• Passion for supporting children and young people.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Understanding of trauma-informed care and its practical application.
• Willingness to complete required clearances and certifications.

Responsabilidades

• Providing day-to-day care and support in a residential setting.
• Building positive and professional relationships with children and young people.
• Supporting participation in education, employment, recreation, and community activities.
• Assisting young people to develop independent living and life skills.
• Maintaining accurate records and reports.
• Working collaboratively with families, carers, case workers, and other stakeholders.
• Implementing individual crisis support plans and behavioural support strategies.

Key responsibilities

• A genuine passion for supporting children and young people


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• The ability to work effectively within a team, and independently


• An understanding of trauma-informed care


• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including sleepovers, weekends, and public holidays


• Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card)


• Cert IV Child & Family Intervention (or Willingness to Enroll)


• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (or ability to obtain)


• Current First Aid and CPR Certificate


• Current Australian Driver License


• Rights to work in Australia
