We are seeking casual Children/Youth Support Workers to support young people in OOHC, across the Foster Care and Families for Life programs. Prior experience with children and a certificate in human services are preferred, with a current First Aid

Responsibilities

  • Support children and youth in family-based OOHC.

A little about the role

Children/Youth Support Workers are responsible for supporting our youngpeople placed in family based Out of Home Care (OOHC). This work is variedand may include planning and supporting activities, individual and or groupwork, transportation and may include supervising family contact. We look forpeople who have empathy and an enormous passion to making a positive andlasting difference to our children and young people’s lives.

We have casual positions available statewide working across our Foster Careand Families for Life program.

Additional responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing various types of support to Child and Youth placed in fostercarer (Transport, Social/Community, Education and Mentoring)
  • Collaborative support, advocating for the child and participation in ourKey Care team Framework
  • Assist in care / behaviour plans for our children and young people
  • Completion of required documentation, for operational compliance
  • Compliance of business policies and child protection procedure
About you

To be successful in this role, you’ll come with:

  • Prior experience working with and/or on behalf of children, young people
  • Energy and enthusiasm, as well as a passion for working with childrenand young people
  • A certificate in Human Services and or a similar relevant field (minimumCert 4)
  • A current First Aid Certificate
  • Confidence and ability to deal with difficult situations
  • Training / experience in child abuse / trauma related behaviours, youthMental Health and similar
  • Availability during weekdays, during the afternoon and early evenings(some weekend work may apply also).
  • Tenacity, diligence and resilience - with the ability to adopt acreative approach to problem solving in a fast-paced environment.
